Peoria (May 11, 2026) — Peoria Mayor Pro Tem Matt Bullock announced his endorsement of Vice Mayor Michael Finn in his bid to become the next Mayor of Peoria.  Representing the Mesquite District in Northern Peoria, Bullock pointed to Finn’s financial and budget experience as well as his commitment to serving all parts of the city.

In his endorsement, Bullock stated, “I am thankful that Peoria is now one of the safest cities in Arizona.  While safety will always remain a priority, as leaders, we need to now focus on smart economic development and long-term fiscal responsibility to ensure we grow the city services and amenities that our residents have been asking for.  Michael Finn has the fiscal and budget expertise from his years in the private sector as a CFO and his time on the City Council pushing for conservative budgeting.  He is a collaborator and consensus builder who will work with all of Peoria to ensure that our needs are met and protect what makes our communities unique.  I am proud to support Mike because he brings a balanced approach to lead Peoria while valuing resident input.”

With Bullock’s endorsement, Finn has now earned the support of all current Peoria City Councilmembers who will remain on the council in 2027 when the next Mayor takes office.  Bullock’s support also demonstrates the strength of Finn’s coalition of support across all portions of the city and his desire to collaborate with each part of the community to meet their distinct needs.

“I have known Matt Bullock for many years.  We worked closely together years ago at the Peoria Unified School District while he was on the school board and I was the Chief Financial Officer.  We have renewed and strengthened that working relationship since he joined the Peoria City Council,” said Vice Mayor Finn, “Mayor Pro Tem Bullock is a tireless champion for his district and works hard every day to protect the quality of life for the communities he serves.  He is a problem solver with the entrepreneurial spirit we need to help continue to make Peoria a top destination to live, work, and raise a family.  I am honored to have his support.”

Spanning over 180 square miles, the City of Peoria includes many unique areas from the rapidly growing portions in the north that include the Peoria Innovation Core (PIC) and Lake Pleasant to the more established areas in the south including areas such as P83 and Old Town.  The next Mayor will need to balance these needs and foster collaboration to ensure all of Peoria thrives.

Finn concluded, “I am grateful to earn the support from councilmembers from across the city, and I commit to working with each and every one of them to ensure that our entire city heads in the right direction.  Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous city and I am excited to see what our future holds.”
