Peoria (March 23, 2026) — Vice Mayor and Palo Verde District Councilmember Michael Finn announced today that he has filed 5,312 petition signatures and all necessary disclosures to qualify for the ballot in his campaign for Mayor of Peoria. As this is the final year of his current term, Finn will continue representing the Palo Verde District until his successor is elected.

“Now that I’ve qualified for the ballot, I’m ready to hit the ground running,” said Finn. “I’m excited to get out across Peoria, engage with residents, share my vision for our city, and show how my experience can keep Peoria moving in the right direction.”

Finn has already built frontrunner status with a broad and growing coalition of support, including endorsements from local leaders, law enforcement organizations, first responders, and community stakeholders who have pointed to his experience, steady leadership, and ability to bring people together to deliver results.

Over the course of his time on the council, Finn has worked alongside fellow city leaders to maintain Peoria’s strong financial standing, prioritize public safety, and advance economic development efforts that are shaping the city’s future. His leadership has helped keep taxes low, strengthen city services, and position Peoria as one of Arizona’s most desirable places to live.

Peoria Councilmember Jennifer Crawford stated, “Mike has shown time and again that he is dedicated to serving every part of Peoria—from our rapidly growing northside to our long-established neighborhoods in South Peoria. His understanding of our city is comprehensive, and his actions reflect a genuine commitment to ensuring that all residents are heard and supported. We have developed a strong, productive working relationship, and I am proud to call him both a colleague and a friend.”

Public safety has remained a central focus of Finn’s service, reflected in strong support from law enforcement and fire organizations, including the Arizona Police Association (APA), the City of Peoria Police Supervisors (COPPS), the Peoria Police Officers Association (PPOA), the Peoria Chapter of the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association (UPFFA) Local 493, and the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona (PFFA).

PPOA President David Ayres added, “Vice Mayor Michael Finn has been a strong supporter of public safety during his time on the Peoria City Council. He understands the importance of providing officers with the staffing, training, and resources necessary to protect the community. The Peoria Police Officers Association recognizes his continued commitment to public safety and is pleased to support his candidacy for Mayor.”

“Peoria is a city with tremendous opportunity, and I am proud of the work we’ve done to build a strong foundation for the future,” said Finn. “As Mayor, I will focus on maintaining safe neighborhoods, protecting taxpayers, and ensuring we continue to grow in a way that benefits every part of our community.”

Finn concluded, “Serving the residents of Peoria has been the greatest honor of my career. I’m grateful for the trust this community has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing that service as Mayor. I also want to thank the many volunteers, supporters, and especially our Peoria fire fighters local 493 team who worked so hard to help gather signatures and make this possible. Their support means a great deal, and I’m excited to keep building this momentum together.”
