Peoria Police Officers Back Finn for Mayor

Finn named best choice for public safety by Peoria law enforcement.

Peoria (February 16, 2026) — Palo Verde District Councilmember and current Vice Mayor Michael Finn announced the backing of the Peoria Police Officers Association (PPOA) today in his bid for Peoria Mayor. Established in 1987, PPOA represents the dedicated law enforcement professionals in Peoria, Arizona – serving their members through community, strength, and unity. 

PPOA President David Ayres states, “Vice Mayor Michael Finn has been a strong supporter of public safety during his time on the Peoria City Council.  He understands the importance of providing officers with the staffing, training, and resources necessary to protect the community. The Peoria Police Officers Association recognizes his continued commitment to public safety and is pleased to support his candidacy for Mayor.”

On the Peoria City Council, Finn helped lead efforts to increase patrol staffing to help the Peoria Police Department improve response times across the city. The expansion ensured more consistent coverage and a proactive approach to crime prevention.  He also supported efforts to use technology to improve rapid public safety response and has worked to support investing in stronger school safety.

Finn concluded, “Public safety is a key reason why Peoria has earned statewide recognition as one of Arizona’s best places to live.  As mayor, I will make sure it stays that way. I look forward to working with the Peoria Police Officers Association to keep our streets and families safe.”
