Peoria (February 23, 2026) — Current Vice Mayor and longtime Palo Verde District Council Member Michael Finn announced today that the City of Peoria Police Supervisors (COPPS) have endorsed his run for Mayor of Peoria. Representing the supervisory members within the Peoria Police Department, COPPS is committed to professional law enforcement leadership, public safety excellence, and service to the residents of Peoria.

 

COPPS President Matt Miller stated, “Vice Mayor Michael Finn has been a consistent supporter of public safety and the leadership professionals who guide the Peoria Police Department. Throughout his time on the City Council, he has demonstrated a clear understanding of the operational needs of law enforcement and the importance of providing the staffing, training, and resources necessary to keep our community safe. The City of Peoria Police Supervisors are proud to support his candidacy for Mayor.”

During his time on the Peoria City Council, Finn helped lead efforts to increase patrol staffing, improving response times and ensuring consistent coverage across the city. He has supported strategic investments in technology to enhance emergency response capabilities and has worked diligently to strengthen school safety initiatives to protect Peoria’s students and families.

 

Finn concluded, “Peoria’s continued growth demands strong leadership at every level of public safety. As Mayor, I will prioritize strategic planning, smart resource allocation, and meaningful engagement with department leadership to ensure our city remains prepared for the challenges ahead.
